Missouri state lawmakers are considering several proposals that would cut funding for health and mental health services. In Kansas, recent success in garnering legislative approval to expand KanCare hit a wall when the Governor vetoed the bill. Simultaneously, Congress is considering proposals to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and make severe cuts to health care for families, people with disabilities, seniors and kids. This workshop will provide attendees with information on the status of related federal and state legislation and ways they can join in advocacy efforts and coalitions to preserve and strengthen access to health care.
